How Positive Energy Can Reduce Stress and Improve Health

What is positive energy? – Positive energy is that feeling that you can accomplish anything, the wonderful feeling of believing in yourself. It's looking at challenges as possibilities rather than impossibilities, replacing negative emotions with positives and being able to look at your life with true happiness.

How can negative energy affect health and wellbeing? – Having negative energy can limit your ability to see your true potential. If you're constantly telling yourself that you can't do something, you'll start to believe it and the possibility of success can be lost. This in turn can lower your self-esteem, which greatly increases stress levels both on the job and in your personal life.

If you're spending time dwelling on the bad, you'll forget about all the good and your overall wellbeing will suffer. Negative thoughts and beliefs will force you to miss out on great opportunities.

Many studies have shown that pessimists have shortened lifespans and an overall lower quality of life. Having a negative outlook on life can lead to an unfulfilling and unsuccessful life. Although everyone’s definition of success and fulfillment is different – if you constantly have negative thoughts – you won't be able to find out what your idea of success is, and you'll never be able to obtain it.

How to increase positive energy and improve health – Surround yourself with people who make you feel good and don't put you down. The people that you spend most of your time with should help you see that you are able to do anything you put your mind to. On the opposite end, speak positively to others. Making other people feel better will end up making you feel better in the long run.

Another important part of positive living is talking to yourself positively. Eliminate those negative thoughts and replace them with positives. Instead of seeing something as difficult, start seeing it as a challenge that you can definitely overcome. This way, you'll be able to view the vast array of possibilities and accomplish anything. No more, “I can't do this.” Start asking yourself, “How can I do this?” You'll feel less stressed when you meet a challenge and you'll begin to feel excited to get things done.

Opening your mind to positive energy can help you build new skills, which in turn will improve various areas of your life. By believing in yourself to reach your goals, good things are sure to happen. If you don't believe in yourself, you won't get that chance to make it happen and will feel more stressed about failure.

Tell yourself every day that it's going to be a great day. Starting out your day with this belief will lead to a more productive and happy life. Avoid letting a small problem ruin your whole day. Tell yourself it’s just a small bump in the road and better things are always to come.

Take part in things that make you happy. Whether that's reading, writing, painting, swimming, horseback riding, or just spending time with loved ones – do it as much as possible and don't forget what makes you happy.

Practice yoga, meditation, or other relaxation techniques. The positive energy that is released from these types of practices can lead to a healthier, happier life. Relieving your stress in a positive way will keep your mind fresh and ready to tackle anything.
