Third Annual West Coast Carving Workshop |

THE SEAL BOWL with Rick Wolcott
The Seal bowl was used to hold oils into which dried salmon was dipped. These bowls were widely used in potlatches and other ceremonial events.
We will be carving freshly cut Red Alder blocks, roughing out and hollowing the blanks with native adzes and spoon chisels. Then we carve the face and patterns of the Seal Bowl
with crooked and push knives. We usually carve Mon-Fri. 9am-5pm. The size of the Bowl is usually determined by the Alder we get.
When: July 4th - 10th, 2010
Course only (Walk-in carver) - $375
