The Lodge at Weirs Beach is a Family Affair!
Marg Lachmuth and her family are all involved in making the Lodge a very special place to be. They each contribute their unique skills and experience to creating a beautiful sanctuary that invites each guest to relax, reflect, and heal, cradled between the forest and the sea.
When they first saw the Lodge, they all immediately felt the same sense of peace and welcoming that each new visitor experiences. As yoga practitioners and lovers of the outdoors, they share a vision of offering guests a chance to reconnect with themselves and the natural world. A place to come home to.
Marg Lachmuth
Usually followed by her faithful canine companion, Max, Marg is the mainstay of Lodge operations. Originally trained as a Registered Nurse, she is also a certified Yoga Instructor and certified Thai Yoga Massage Therapist. Living in Calgary, Alberta and Inuvik, NWT before purchasing the Lodge in 2007, Marg has taught Nursing at Bow Valley College and been on overseas missions for the International Red Cross (ICRC) – including 3 missions in Sri Lanka (including the 2004 tsunami) and Pakistan after the 2005 earthquake.
The natural cycle of the seasons has been a defining influence on Marg’s life. She welcomes the challenges and changes that come with each season – whether it be the new logs thrown up onto the beach after a wild winter storm or the emerging shoots in the garden each spring. The Lodge is a way to share her passion and appreciation for the natural cycles of nature with others.
Angela Lachmuth and Bo Garrett
Angela and Bo, Marg's daughter and son-in-law, crewed for five years on luxury sailing and power vessels, cruising the South Pacific, Mediterranean and Caribbean. Now land-based, they are an integral part of Lodge operations, maintenance, and re-development of the gardens. They are certified and insured to provide Thai Yoga Massage and Angela is particularly involved in planning and offering Yoga retreats at the Lodge.

Bed & Breakfast
Wake up to the seasonal freshness of our garden and the local farmers harvest. Delicious and filling breakfasts are served in the log dining room over-looking the Victoria Harbour. You will have a choice from our menu, which will cater to any allergies or dietary restrictions.
This service is provided for an additional $10 per guest, per day. Please specify your request for Bed & Breakfast upon reservation.
